The National Coordinator of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Door-To-Door Initiative, Sunday Asuku, has praised Tinubu for his efforts in maintaining Nigeria’s unity and reigniting optimism about the nation’s future.

He made this statement during a peace march in Lagos State on Wednesday, arranged by the group’s South-West branch to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day.

Meanwhile, PUNCH Online had previously reported that the Federal Government on Mondayannouncedthe cancellation of the Independence Day parade that was planned to celebrate the country’s 65th anniversary of independence.

Asuku considered the country’s path since 1960.

He characterized it as a narrative of sacrifice, perseverance, and foresight, driven by the steadfast resolve of Nigeria’s early leaders.

Asuku said, “On this magnificent day of Nigeria’s Independence, we unite in expressing heartfelt gratitude and renewed optimism for our nation’s path, a journey shaped by sacrifice, vision, and the relentless determination of our pioneers.”

Sixty-five years back, our original leaders stood strong with bravery and optimism, planting the foundations of freedom so that future generations could receive a place filled with respect, honor, and endless possibilities. Now, their heritage continues within us.

Asuku emphasized further Nigeria’s unique potential as a country encompassing a variety of people, cultures, and capabilities.

Nigeria is much more than a country; it is the pulse of Africa, a rich tapestry of over 250 million strong individuals whose power comes from their diversity, whose charm lies in their culture, and whose future holds great achievements.

From the toil of our farmers to the ingenuity of our inventors, from the bravery of our young people to the knowledge of our seniors, Nigeria keeps moving forward as a country meant to take the lead.

Recognizing the current administration, Asuku highlighted the President’s influence and the shared responsibility of governors throughout the federation.

We honor President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT), the leader of the people, whose New Hope Initiative is reigniting confidence in a more robust and prosperous Nigeria.

We acknowledge the continuous dedication of our governors throughout the federation, who are striving around the clock to transform aspirations into tangible outcomes at the local level.

“Their leadership, along with the strength of the Nigerian people, demonstrates that the efforts of our past heroes will not go unnoticed,” he said.

Asuku highlighted that the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement continues to gain its power and guidance from the leadership of High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo, widely referred to as Tompolo.

He characterized Tompolo’s direction as essential in maintaining the group’s message of hope and community-driven activism.

“PBAT’s door-to-door initiative, guided by the esteemed leadership of High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (known as Tompolo, GOC), is dedicated to spreading this message of hope, unity, and development to each home, street, and community until every household in Nigeria reaps the benefits of democracy,” he added further.

The leader emphasized the value of teamwork, encouraging people to stay strong in their beliefs and solidarity.

He stated, “For we believe that the real power of a country isn’t just in its leaders, but in the shared determination of its citizens to create, persevere, and achieve victory.”

Today, we rekindle our belief in Nigeria. We ask for lasting peace, heavenly guidance for our leaders, economic growth, safety across our country, and harmony among our varied people. Let this Independence Day serve as a reminder that although we face many difficulties, our future is guaranteed.

We will jointly construct a Nigeria that is respected among the countries of the world. Happy Independence Day to all Nigerians, both within the country and abroad!
