Pastor Sentenced for Raping Two Sisters in ‘Deliverance’ Abuse

A 63-year-old minister named Luke Eze is currently in prison after being accused of sexually assaulting two sisters, who are 16 and 19 years old, in Enugu State, according to PUNCH Metro reported on Tuesday.

Our reporter found out that the victims’ parent filed a report, resulting in Eze’s arrest on September 11, 2025.

The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, said in a statement on Tuesday night that the pastor enticed the victims to his church, City of Hope Ministry, also referred to as “Oku Night,” for a “deliverance session” on September 7, 2025.

The statement reportedly stated: “After making her participate in a hollow-mortar-beating ceremony, he gave her a mind-numbing liquid that caused her to lose consciousness, allowing him to sexually assault her.”

When the younger sister failed to come back, her 19-year-old sibling (the second victim) headed to the church, where she was exposed to the same misleading ceremony.

Ndukwe stated that the accused is alleged to have given a mind-altering drug to both victims, causing them to lose consciousness, before committing the act of rape.

The suspect gave the substance to her too, and once she became unconscious, he then assaulted her in the same manner.

Both victims became conscious the next afternoon, September 8, and discovered they were naked, with blood on their genital areas and other signs of the attack.

He mentioned, “The suspect admitted to the offenses, attributing them to ‘the devil,'” Ndukwe said, noting that two plastic bottles holding the unknown substance had been collected for scientific examination.

“He was brought before the court following the completion of investigations conducted by the Gender and Anti-Human Trafficking Division of the State CID under the command, and was subsequently placed in corrective detention,” Ndukwe stated.

The Police Commissioner, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has denounced the action as disgusting and irrational, warning parents and the public to avoid being deceived by criminals who pose as religious figures.

“He guarantees the public that the command is dedicated to making sure justice is achieved in the case,” Ndukwe added.
