On Wednesday, October 1, as Nigeria celebrated its 65th Independence Day, a nostalgic video featuring Nigerian music celebrities performing the older version of the national anthem surfaced on social media.
The footage recorded a rendition by 2Baba, Yemi Alade, Rema, and Cobhams of the remarkable and inspiring National Anthem, titled “Arise, O Compatriots.”
The music video, nevertheless, dates back to 2020, during Nigeria’s 60th Anniversary of Independence, prior to the anthem being modified by President Bola Tinubu’s government.
