Banking Leader Ladigbolu-Ilozobhie Honored Globally

The Managing Director of Daylight Microfinance Bank, Princess Adeola Ladigbolu-Ilozobhie, has received an honorary doctorate in management from the London Bridge Business School in the United Kingdom.

The award occurred during a recent event in Accra, Ghana, where she was also named a Distinguished Fellow of the Africa Institute of Public Administration, as stated in a release on Tuesday.

The doctoral degree was officially awarded by Dr Deodaté Adenutsi, the program coordinator for Ghana, on behalf of Professor Mahesh Pillai, the Vice President for the Middle East and Africa at London Bridge Business School.

Organizers stated that Ladigbolu-Ilozobhie was deemed worthy of the two awards due to her long-term and significant contributions to the management sector, even though she has deep connections in banking. They also praised her “unrelenting dedication to guiding young individuals in both banking and management,” which, they mentioned, has consistently motivated a new wave of professionals.

Daughter of esteemed religious leader Emeritus Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, Ladigbolu-Ilozobhie oversees the Lagos-based Daylight Microfinance Bank, which is part of the NNPC Staff Cooperative Limited.

Her reference outlined a professional path that started at United Bank for Africa in 1990, moving through managerial roles at Blue Ridge Microfinance Bank and Personal Trust Microfinance Bank, and then assuming her present position at Daylight MFB.

She was recognized as a goal-focused and resolute leader, having demonstrated success in identifying markets, redefining strategies, and improving operations for portfolios worth billions of naira.

In addition to her professional achievements, she has been actively involved with industry organizations. She once held the position of Public Relations Officer at the National Association of Microfinance Banks, Lagos branch, and was recently the Treasurer for the South-West Zone. She is also a member of the Association of Professional Women Bankers. Furthermore, she is an alumnus of the School of Africa Microfinance in Kenya.
